PCOS/PCOD

PCOS/PCOD

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrinal (hormonal) disorder characterized by irregular or no periods, acne, obesity, and excess hair growth.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

Menstrual disturbances. It includes delay of normal menstruation (primary amenorrhea), the presence of fewer than normal menstrual periods (oligomenorrhea), or the absence of menstruation for more than three months ( secondary amenorrhea ).
  • Menstrual cycles may not be associated with ovulation (anovulatory cycles) and may result in heavy bleeding.
  • Acne,
  • Excess hair growth on the body (hirsutism),
  • Male-pattern hair loss.
  • Obesity and weight gain,
  • Elevated insulin levels and insulin resistance,
  • Oily skin,
  • Dandruff ,
  • Infertility,
  • Skin discolorations,
  • High cholesterol levels,
  • Elevated blood pressure , and
  • Multiple, small cysts in the ovaries.
Women with PCOS are at a higher risk for a number of illnesses, including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease , and cancer of the uterus(endometrial cancer).
Because of the menstrual and hormonal irregularities, infertility is common in women with PCOS.

TREATMENT

We, at Homoeo Clinic, are successfully treating women with polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS) for the last 10 years by prescribing a constitutional Homeopathic remedy capable of working on the ovaries and the entire endocrinal system. An overall feeling of well being is reported by most after commencing treatment and this is an important marker that the treatment is moving along the right path.
One of the main advantages of the treatment is that it is without any side effects and it is non habit-forming. Patients can conclude the treatment once they remain symptom-free for a few months with continued medication. Homeopathy is strongly suggested for all cases of PCOS.
Homeopathy for PCOS or PCOD should be continued for a significant duration of time as the appearance and normalization of the menstrual cycle as well as decrease or absence of cyst formation are the only means by which improvement can be monitored.
